Preserving the exquisite resources at Abohar

Abohar Wildlife Sanctuary
The Abohar Wildlife Sanctuary has been now declared as an Eco-Sensitive Zone as it is one of those places which has invaluable environmental resources and are rare in its own way. These incomparably valuable resources require special attention from the authorities and that is why it has now been included in the ESZ segment.

It has a number of protected species and Black Bucks are one of them. This sanctuary has the highest number of the same. Around 100-meter diameter of the sanctuary will be declared as Eco-Sensitive Zone. This zone is a part of the Section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act of 1986. With today’s environmental disturbances it is important to preserve such rare species and deliver special attention to the same. The conservation and development process of will be achieved through a scientific plan, wherein zonal master plans will be prepared and the local authorities and the government in the same will prepare a great role. It won’t be possible to conserve these natural resources without the participation of the local authorities.

The specified region will then be developed sustainably and proper care will be taken of the people living in the surrounding areas. The development will be done keeping in mind the comfort of the people residing in neighboring areas, without harming their daily lives. The community which dominates this region is the Bishnoi community and it has been making huge efforts and contributing considerably to conserve these species.

The Abohar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over in an area of 186.5 sq. km and covers around 13 villages of the Abohar region. The number of Black Bucks in the sanctuary move over 3, 500 in number and they even have another rare kind of Bulls, which are the Blue Bulls. These are some of those kinds of species, which are only heard of by most of the people or seen in pictures but rarely seen in reality.

Once the area is developed, efforts will also be made to develop tourism in the city, so that along with increasing the economy of the region, it will also be a wonderful sight for people coming to nearby cities from around the world. The basic steps taken to preserve the environment in an ESZ segment is that no mining is done in that area and neither any new wood saw mills are allowed. Also, no industry that pollutes water or air will be allowed to install in that area. Even plastic bans will be banned, so that the environment is not polluted in any possible way.
