Bringing Punjab closer to its Heritage

History and heritage are two such elements that the coming generation should be well aware of, and should entirely take it forward with them. From valuable learning, to the roots of the culture, there are a lot of things that are connected to the history of a particular place or person. Punjab has always been known for its culture and its history and colourful heritage. It is important to maintain it and along with this, take it forward to the youth who can further learn a lot from their ancestors.

Prakash Singh Badal, Chief Minister of Punjab had recently laid a foundation stone of Baba Moti Ram Memorial and there amongst these kinds of memorials help in enlightening the youth, as they act as lighthouses for the coming generations. There is a lot of heritage that is to be restored in the State and the government has been making efforts to do the same. As told by Badal, till now they have invested an amount of Rs. 1, 000 crore in constructing class-apart memorials in different parts of the State.

He said that soon the construction work for Sri Guru Ravidasji Memorial will be started and more such wonders will be offered to the country, like War Heroes Memorial-cum-museum, Jang-e-Azadi Memorial and more.

People like Baba Moti Ram are an inspiration for the youth in the country, who today fights for injustice and wants to have a tyranny-free India. The State Government is trying its best to bring forward the legacy of the Sikh Gurus and tell the people about their life and achievements. The memorial will be built near the Thanda Burj at Fatehgarh Sahib.

Talking about the current crisis of the farmers, he said that the State Government would provide free power to them worth Rs. 5000 crore, annually. The State has made a number of efforts to make Punjab a rarity in the country, as it is the only state that has surplus power. To help the families of the farmers who have committed suicide, the state has shared their grief by offering them compensation, which can help them stabilize their lives.

Mentioning another worth applauding achievement of the government, he says that they have even planned to double the pensions of the people that are a part of the social security scheme. There are a number of schemes being run by the alliance government in the state, which are helping in elevating the underprivileged sections of the society.
